Join Westcott‘s lighting and education expert Brandon Heiss at Glazer’s Camera in Seattle for an evening of essential portrait lighting tips and tricks.
Starting at 6:00 PM PST, Brandon will host Speedlite Photography: How to make it work for you! During this seminar, Brandon will show how easy it can be to use portable speedlites both in the studio and outdoors. These can be amazing tools and chances are, you probably own at least one speedlite already! If the weather permits, we can travel outside to show just how portable these lights can be, and take some “on location” images.
For this demonstration, Brandon will be using portable speedlites, along with a variety of light modifiers to achieve amazing images that will help your photography immediately. Bring your camera to the class and use our speedlites to make some images yourself!
Then, at 8:00 PM PST, Brandon will begin his Continuous Lighting for Portraits class. This seminar is designed for all photographers who are interested in learning about portrait lighting. Brandon will demonstrate step-by-step techniques to show how easy portraits can be made with a variety of continuous lighting set-ups. You will see how to use lighting effectively using just one light, then adding up to three lights to make beautiful images. We’ll discuss how to control these lights with light modifiers including collapsible reflectors, umbrellas, and soft boxes with some great tips and demonstrations on how to manipulate these lighting sources.
After taking Continuous Lighting for Portraits, you will be able to light for great portraits with confidence and get amazing results. For this demonstration, Westcott’s Brandon Heiss will be using a variety of continuous lights which allow photographers to see how lighting patterns are formed on their subject’s face. Learn how to manipulate these patterns for dramatic results.
These lights are rated for daylight color balance and enable you to have beautiful window light any time of day and every day of the year. Stick around at the end of the seminar to talk about the lights, and even take a few test photos for yourself!
