For the 60th Lightapalooza 2013 contest, we were inspired by Top Pro Erik Valind‘s photography quick tip on gaining emotion from your subjects. We asked to see your most emotional image and participants did not let us down. We received endearing photo submissions with fantastic back stories from many talented photographers. After sifting through the submissions, we decided that David Johnson’s portrait of a friend was a wonderful exhibit of captured emotion. Congratulations to David of Ottawa, Ontario for being chosen as our 60th Lightapalooza winning contestant!
As winner, David will be receiving a Westcott 28″ Medium Apollo. Our most popular Apollo, this light modifier is built with an umbrella-style frame, allowing for quick set-up. David will also be receiving a DigiCard card reader and a copy of the book Photographic Lighting: Essential Skills, courtesy of this week’s sponsor Pro Studio Supply. And like all of our Lightapalooza 2013 winners, he will also receive a Lightapalooza 2013 Golden Ticket, which will enter him into the year-end drawing for the coveted grand prize.
With so many stunning submissions, we had a very difficult time choosing a single winner. So, we would also like to congratulate Hayley Ng of Ann Arbor, Michigan as our second place contestant of the 60th Lightapalooza contest. She also submitted a beautiful capture of emotion with her image of this happy couple. As runner-up, Jules will also be receiving a Lightapalooza 2013 Golden Ticket.
We would like to thank everyone who participated in this Lightapalooza contest and wish everyone luck in the final round of contests. This will be your final chance at scoring a coveted Golden Ticket! Enter now through Friday, December 13th.
