Craig Beckta Reviews the 35″ Zeppelin

By on 2014-07-23

Halifax portrait photographer Craig Beckta reviews the Westcott Zeppelin Deep Parabolic softbox and the Zeppelin Speedring Bracket for an outdoor portrait session. The Zeppelin softbox is available in 35 (shown here), 47, and 59 inch models. All feature a deep parabolic construction which creates stunning even, wrap-around light output. Each Zeppelin Para Softbox is equipped with high-quality construction and needlework, 16 durable lightweight and heat-resistant rods, a 1/2-stop inner diffusion panel with a 1/2-stop center dot to eliminate hot spots, and a single sheet outer diffusion panel. These modifiers also come standard with a heavy-duty travel case allowing to easy transportation to on-location shoots like Craig’s.

The Zeppelin Speedring Bracket is available for purchase and compatible with Bowens, Profoto, Balcar (compatible with Alien Bee and Einstein Strobes), and Elinchrom style light heads. This heavy-duty bracket not only provides quick mounting for these large modifiers, but also serves as additional weight support. The Zeppelin is equipped with a zippered entry point, serving as a second light head mounting option when paired with an additional light stand.
