Westcott Top Pro Jim Schmelzer continues his wedding photography lighting tips from Part 1 at the church. Here, Jim will bring in his bride and groom to start shooting beautiful images. Jim was using the Standard Umbrella - White/Black Bounce (7') in this lighting setup. Along with using an umbrella for the main source of light, Jim also uses a Pocket Box Max Speedlight Softbox (8" x 12") on camera to fill in some of the shadows.
The 7′ Parabolic Umbrella comes in three different versions. The Silver interior is featured in this video, along with a white interior, and a shoot through version. This large light modifier is great for shooting groups or setting where you need a large coverage of light. The 7′ Parabolic Umbrella features fiberglass ribs for extreme durability.
The Pocket Box used in this video is one of the simplest light modifiers that photographers can use. Simply mount the Pocket Box to a standard speedlite flash and cut down on harsh lighting. The Pocket Box comes in three different sizes. The circular option provides nice round catch lights in the eyes of your subject, while there are two different different sized square options. The larger one provides a softer look while the smaller one is more edgy.
