These images and the information provided on sports composite photography is courtesy of photographer and author Mark Johnson of Mark S. Johnson Photography.
The ability to add drama and control to every aspect of a scene is what sets a composite shot apart from an ordinary photograph. This composite by Mark S. Johnson started in a studio using a seamless white backdrop and three Westcott Spiderlite TD6 units. The subject was lit from three sides using a 36″ x 48″ Shallow Softbox without diffusion material and two 12″ x 36″ Stripbanks with egg crates and no diffusion material. When the perfect background is not readily available, photographers who are experienced in Photoshop or similar programs may turn to a stock photography website.
