George Simian started out as a small boy, in Bucharest, Romania. Much, much later, he began his photographic career by making documentary environmental portraits, while teaching at Cornell University.

Moving to Boston, he started freelancing for Polaroid and for Michael Weymouth, a leading annual report designer. Winning numerous awards (Mead Show, AR100) brought him national clients, including:

AT&T, CapitalOne, Computer Associates Fidelity Investments, Fleet Financial, Georgia-Pacific, John Hancock, Johnson and Johnson, Olsten, Polaroid, Staples, Procter and Gamble, Textron, Warner Music Group, and Xerox.

A seasoned international traveler, speaking French and (of course) Romanian, George is at ease working in any country (or cooperate park), making his subjects feel comfortable and fully involved in the process.

Very happily married to Indonesian Photographer, Beata Bernina, George enjoys travel, urban culture, warm oceans, and trying out every new color management tool he discovers. He currently serves as National Treasurer of the Advertising Photographers of America, and teaches at UCLA Extension, where he was awarded Outstanding Instructor in Visual Arts for 2007.
