“My mentor, Peter Benny, a stock photographer for Image Bank, was born in England,” relates Bob Garas. “I met him in south Florida, and we spent numerous days photographing the coast of south Florida, the ports and the Everglades. Being at a location at 4:00 am, making sure to catch the sunrise and returning home well after sunset, I gained a wealth of knowledge from Peter Benny.”
Now Bob lives, and has a studio in Orlando, Florida where he enjoys capturing conceptual images in digital formats. “Early in my career,” Bob says, “Film was such a hassle! The waiting and depending on a photo lab to not mess up your slides and film was frustrating. The digital world of photography is so enjoyable! Ideas can be captured in a moment.”
