Shanyn Fiske is a photographer and filmmaker based in Philadelphia, PA and Brooklyn, NY. She believes in the importance of versatility in keeping her work fresh and shoots everything from fashion and portraiture to equine sports to photojournalism. In addition to her photography practice, she is director of the graduate program in English and Media Studies at Rutgers University (Camden), where she has been a tenured professor for over two decades. She also serves as executive director of Edgelight Media Group, a production company that partners with organizations in the human rights space to create impactful visual narratives that drive social change.
As an educator and an artist, she believes in the power of visual imagery to inspire positive change. As a humanist, she believes in the necessity of continual self-reinvention.
