Photographer Tom S. reviews the Westcott Ice Light and the Ice Light PowerPack in this week’s Real Deal Review. In this review, Tom talks about some of the practical ways he uses the Ice Light as well as the Pro’s and Con’s of the Ice Light. Tom will show examples of the Ice Light in use with a model shows examples with a model.

The Ice light is a portable handheld daylight light source that is fully dimmable.  The Ice Light allows photographers a portable option if there is limited space to setup an entire photo studio.  If you don’t have an assistant, the Ice Light is easy to mount, with a built in 1/4 – 20 thread on both sides.  The beauty of continuous light is that you can see how light patterns fall before the shot, therefore eliminating the test shot and creating a better workflow. The Ice Light was Created for multiple uses including photography and videography.

The Ice Light PowerPack is a simple accessory that screws on to the 1/4 – 20 thread on the bottom of the Ice Light.  The PowerPack allows anadditional 2.5 – 5 hours of battery life, depending on the intensity of the Ice Light. This is a great addition for photographers and videographers who are on location and need extra battery life for the Ice Light.
